Jan Reid is Senior Manager of Enabling Technologies for Scottish Enterprise.  Her role involves the development of the new Enabling Technologies Strategy for Scotland, which is due for launch next month, and the operational contact for SE for the Technology Strategy Board.  She is also responsible for Environmental and Clean Technologies, working more recently with a partnership approach with SEPA, SFC and HIE on an Action Plan for Scotland.  She is a Director of ISLI (Institute of Systems Level Integration) and a Board member of the National Microelectronics Institute (NMI).  
 
A graduate of Glasgow Caledonian University, Jan joined the Training Agency in Essex before returning home to Scotland and joined the new Scottish Enterprise in 1991.  She has developed and driven many new projects for Scottish Enterprise and several roles and most recently prior to her current position, Jan was Head of Aerospace and Defence, developing the Scottish Aerospace Strategy, 2002 and working with the DTI on the UK Aerospace Strategy.  This role involved various Board memberships at UK level and international travel leading up to April 2008 when she started her current position in the Digital Markets and Enabling Technologies Directorate.
